No stopping for the DUB SYNDICATE ! - Since the latest full length studio album release "Acres Of Space" (EFA CD/LP 39805) there have been over 2 ½ years passed by and yes, "the times they are a changin" - and there are even more reasons to be back again to spread the sound and the message for LINCOLN VALENTINE SCOTT aka L.V.SCOTT aka STYLE SCOTT, and yes, again with long-time collaborator ADRIAN SHERWOOD on board and in the mix. The loose collective of artists that works under the banner of DUB SYNDICATE gets for "No Bed Of Roses" another essential extended membership: CEDRIC MYTON (from THE CONGOS and the LEE PERRY produced "Heart Of The Congos" fame) on the album"s title track and one of Jamaica"s most beloved vocalists, GREGORY ISAACS, back in full power for "Kingston 14". Former Studio One singer and ex-member of THE UNIQUES and THE ETERNALS and recently rediscoverd by Berlin"s RHYTHM & SOUND is CORNEL CAMPBELL who participate here in "Nothing Comes Easy". The dub poet YASUS AFARI, most known for his collaborations with GARNETT SILK, is greeted as well as a new member and "Jamaican Proverb" and especially "Hard & Tuff" are two of his finest works to date. The producer, drummer and percussionist L.V. SCOTT don"t forget the youths and UPLIFTER (from CAPLETON"s DAVID HOUSE CREW), LLOYD FORREST, CA$H U get strong appearances on "Uplifting", "Fire Burning", and "Nuttin Nah Gwaan". The musicians line-up stands tall as well: DELROY COOPER aka CHRISTOPHER "POW" MEREDITH, and DANIEL THOMPSON aka DANNY AXE MAN share the bass, while EARL "CHINNA SMITH" and WINSTON BOWEN aka BOPEE are the guitarists. Piano and the keyboards are in the hands of ANTHONY JOHNSON aka STEELY, LLOYD DENTON aka OBEAH, and PAUL "WRONGMOVE" CROSSDALE. The 2004 DUB SYNDICATE album was recorded at Tuff Gong studio by engineer ANTHONY GRAHAM, over dubbed in London by ADRIAN SHERWOOD and comes as six page digipak CD and double vinyl in a gatefold sleeve with extra track. And never forget: "Life is not a bed of roses" - so I and I prefer to be hard and tuff".
